Lex Frieden Appointed Chair of the National Council on Disability (NCD)
Lex Frieden was confirmed as Chair of the NCD by the Senate on July 26, 2002, the 12th
anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Lex brings a wealth of experience to his role as NCD Chair. He is the senior vice president at The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research, directs the Independent Living Research Utilization Program, and is a professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine. NCD is an independent federal agency making recommendations to the President and Congress on issues affecting 54 million Americans with disabilities.
